2018 Red Wing Roots Huge Success

Mt. Solon (July 14th, 2018) – What a start to the latest installment of the annual Red Wing Roots Festival in Mt. Solon, VA! Six years ago, roots band, The Steel Wheels, along with several friends, dreamt up a groovy “hometown” festival at nearby Natural Chimneys Park. From the first year, the now capacity, three day event was a rousing success. The natural beauty of the park is a perfect setting for this family friendly, three day music and camping experience. 40 bands, on 4 stages, along with mostly regional vendors selling delicious local food and wares keep the guests well fed and entertained all day. “It’s one of the most unique festivals I’ve ever attend,” exclaimed one attendee from Florida. “We drove two days, all the way from Kansas just to hear the Steel Wheels,” said another.
Friday’s entertainment featured sets by Songs From the Road Band, Charley Crockett, Mipso, and headliner Trampled By Turtles, just to name a few. Steep Canyon Rangers closes out the festival on Sunday evening. If this festival is not on your radar, be sure to start watching their face book page around January for tickets and camping reservation announcements. Both sell quickly.
