With the many choices available these days for music festival options, it’s so hard to pick just one. I’m happy to say we were delighted with our choice to spend the day at the Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie, VA at the Dinwiddie Music Festival recently. (Thursday, June 9th) Allen Carpenter, festival promoter, has a fantastic location for the three day event. The weather couldn’t have been better, and cudos to the sound team led by Doug Crabtree – some of the best I’ve heard at a festival in quite a while. This years line up included Flatt Lonesome, Larry Stephenson, Larry Cordle, Donna Ulisse, Darrell Webb, Daily & Vincent, Joe Mullins, Mountain Faith, Junior Sisk, Sideline, and the Steeldrivers, just to mention a few. If you haven’t attended this one yet, it would be a great one to add to your list. And if you’re a camping enthusiast, they’ve got that covered for you too – strategically located near the stage area, you can even hear the music from your picnic table or while you stroll the park in your golf cart.
