Americana Artists Support Shelter Pet Day

National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day is April, 30th; what better way to celebrate (besides adopting a pet) than to check out the upcoming CD release dedicated to raising funds and awareness for this amazing cause.

The CD, Rescue Me! A Cause for Paws, is a project of Blue Light Records and co-produced by singer/songwriter Amy White, (Inside Track artist, AR issue #68). Amy also contributed the song, “The Best Dog,” for the album. “We invited others to join us in raising awareness of and providing financial support to animal rescue organizations,” said Blue Night Records President, Steven Briggs, who co-produced the album with Amy.

rescuemeThe compilation features some of Americana music’s most respected and gifted artists (see list below) united to support animal rescue and awareness efforts.

The 12 track project is specifically designed to honor those four-legged friends in need of loving homes. Through humor and tenderness, songs like “Barn Cat,” “Kitty, Kitty,” and “My Best Friend,” are genuine and heart-felt, and strive to invoke compassion for those fury creatures waiting to be rescued.

Artists contributing to the CD are Mary Ann Kennedy, Kathy Chiavola, Cindy Mangsen, Robin Flower, Libby McLaren, Annie Lalley, Heidi Muller, Mark Weems, Ashley Jo Farmer, Friction Farm (Aidan Quinn & Christine Stay), Effron White, Jamie Anderson, Amy White, and Joel Mabus.

All of the tracks on Rescue Me! were donated by the songwriters and performers, and Blue Night Records has pledged to donate all of its profits from sales and full CD downloads to animal welfare organizations.
